Information for Patients

Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist

Everything you need to know, from referrals and appointments to fees and what to bring. We're here to make this as smooth as possible

APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

To see me at Woom or Monash IVF West, you will need a referral from your GP or another doctor. A valid referral allows you to access Medicare rebates and ensures your care is well coordinated with your primary healthcare provider. Referrals are typically valid for 12 months unless otherwise specified. If you are unsure whether your referral is suitable, my rooms can help guide you.

Once your referral is received, my team will contact you to assist with appointment availability, location, fees, and any preparation required before your visit. Alternatively, you can contact my secretary on 0478 759 395 to book a time that is convenient to you.

Your GP will ensure that all relevant pathology and imaging is included in your referral, however if you have attended to any investigations after seeing your GP for referral, kindly let reception know when booking your appointment or email to admin@dramyhicks.com.au.

Together, we will explore all suitable management options, including conservative, medical and surgical approaches. I believe strongly in shared decision-making and will explain findings and treatment options clearly so you can make informed choices that align with your goals and circumstances.

If procedures or surgery are recommended, my team will guide you through the next steps, including bookings, hospital information and follow-up care. I work closely with your GP and other health professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Please note – to be seen at Fiona Stanley Hospital under public hospital care, a referral needs to be made by your GP through the central referral system. Due to limited availability of public appointments, you may not be triaged to my care. If you are triaged to my clinic, you will see myself or my registrar – care is always overseen by me.
